In 2020, iOS 14 is set to give the iPhone’s software its biggest shakeup in years as it adds an array of features both large and small.
One of the biggest new additions to feature in iOS 14 is the ability to create widgets which allow users to see info from or use an app without having to actually tap into the app itself.

Widgets on iOS 14
Widgets are the biggest new addition to iOS 14 as they give iPhone users the ability to quickly access information without having to enter an app itself.
Add Spotify App To Phone App
The new widgets, which are available for a host of first and third-party apps on iPhones, are really easy to set up.
Add Spotify App To Desktop
- If you have iOS 14 on your iPhone, simply long-press on your home screen until the apps start wiggling and you can move them around or delete them.
- This will bring up a ‘+’ icon in the top left corner of your screen which, once pressed, will show you which widgets you can add you your home screen.
- Choose a widget to add at the size you want and place it where you want it to go. Easy.
How to get a Spotify widget
- At the time of writing, the Spotify app itself does not have a dedicated iOS 14 widget.
However, as a post on the Spotify Community forum suggests, Spotify is looking at implementing this feature in the future.
If you can’t wait for Spotify to create their own widget, however, the app TuneTrack, which allows you to collect all the music apps on your phone into one place, does have a widget function.
To use, simply download the TuneTrack app and log in to your Spotify account on the TuneTrack app itself and repeat the steps as above.
